Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Asssociation (ABA) today announced its latest innovation, ABA GOLD (ABAG), an exciting new league designed to showcase the top tier professional players in the ABA as well as well-known celebrity players from the entertainment and athletic world.
According to Harold Whaley, ABAG CEO,"the inaugural season will be launched in August 2018 and will feature the ABA's exciting "First to 50" format (the first team to score 50 points wins), a format that has been proven to show huge interest and active engagement among millennials." The new league will feature eight teams:
*San Diego Floaters
*Los Angeles Superstars
*Chicago Wind
*New York Empire
*Baltimore Sparks
*Orlando Splash
*Atlanta Hotballers
*Dallas/Fort Worth Power
"The teams will play four round robin style games weekly with the average game lasting about
30 minutes," added Whaley. "Each team will feature top ABA players and at least one celebrity player. But here's the big wrinkle...ABAG will play a 9 week season with all of the games being played in Las Vegas and each will have a celebrity owner from the music and sports world."
