ABA League Australia Helping Non-Profits Through Sports

The ABA League Australia is announcing it’s new initiative that will allow us to help Non Profit Orgs raise money via our real time sports app. We have an app that sports fans can Play For FREE and win top prize of $1000 every month by getting 5 pregame picks correct in a month.

Fans can also play live with their favourite team or sport like – International Soccer – Major league Soccer – NBA – NFL – NCAA Basketball/Football – Baseball.

Sports is the one thing you don’t have to ask people to check out as it’s part of everyday life which is an awesome way to connect with Non-profits because their main source of survival is connecting with people to help support their cause.

This is why the ABA League Australia has teamed up with the FireFan App through United Games. You simply have fans:
  1. Download The App FireFan in both app stores
  2. Use A Rewards Code: Sportshuboz (Our Code For FREE Tokens)
  3. Join The Non-profits League In The Game
  4. Play along with your favourite games or teams FREE
Our team of experienced sports people will show non-profits how to benefit from our sports app year round. One of the most exciting things is when people share the app with their friends and their friends share the app they are all linked to your non-profit.

This means no boundaries – Imagine being a Non-profit in Chicago and having people in Germany – France – New York & LA linked to your non-profit and enjoying playing and sharing the app and this is earning your non-profit income? This is when it gets exciting, this is no get rich quick scheme but with some consistency you can build a solid base of fans that keep you earning.

We are looking forward to working with some great non-profits, we believe this is an awesome opportunity and we have been using it ourselves to raise funds for some of our Basketball Events here in Sydney Australia.

If your non-profit would like to get more information or to start a strategy that will help get your non-profit earning from our sports app then go to our website form click on Contacts – fill in the form and we will reach out to you ASAP with everything you need to get the ball rolling.

Q&A Joe Newman ABA Chairman On Growing The ABA & Getting Back Into The Ad Game

Joe Newman turns 81 this month but has no plans to slow down. He’s restarting his advertising career (from 1963-1983, he wrote ads for the Indiana Pacers, Indiana Black Expo, HHGregg, Shane Co., Don’s Guns and more), with two clients already signed.

And he’s pushing forward with his new version of the American Basketball Association. He said he bought the rights to the ABA moniker from the NBA for $50,000. And though the first local team in the league folded and the current team—the Indy Naptown All Stars—is dormant, the Indianapolis-based ABA continues to bounce along.

What’s going on with the ABA?

The ABA is growing and has become the largest professional sports league in the country. We just ended our 17th regular season. We played with 120 teams this year and next year we already have 140 teams. In terms of the league structure, it’s modelled closer to college basketball than the NBA. We’re in every major city in the United States. And we just completed our first season of the WABA, which is our women’s league.

We now have an ABA in Australia and Mexico. After the [postseason] concludes [April 7 in Austin, Texas], we’re going to be announcing ABA Dominican Republic, ABA Cuba, ABA Brazil and ABA Kenya. We’re working on ABA Puerto Rico, too.

What’s the financial status of the teams and the league?

The [financial status] goes from extremely good to not as good. The status of the league is very good. The story of the ABA is this: We are the most diversified professional sports league in the world. Seventy-five percent of my owners are minorities—African-American, Hispanic, Asian or women. We have disabled owners and many [military] veteran owners. Diversity, inclusion and opportunity are the backbones of the ABA.

Is the ABA competing with the NBA?

Why would you want to come in and submarine—or even attempt to submarine—an icon? We’re coexisting.

How much does it cost to operate a team?

We’ve changed that model over the years. The franchise fee used to be $20,000; now it’s $2,500 USD. I make it easy to own a team. The player payroll has come way down, too. You can operate a team in this league for $75,000 a year.

How do you attract players to play in your league?

Some of our players make as little as $25 to $50 a game; some get as much as $3,000 a month, depending on the team. It’s not about the money for the players. What the players are playing for is competition, exposure and an opportunity to go to the [NBA’s] G League or get an international contract.

What keeps you going?

I’ve never seen work as a chore. I like doing what I do. I don’t like being a carpenter and I don’t want to garden. I’m not an idle mind that can go out and play golf four times a week. That’s why I’m going back into the advertising business. I like it and I like to write.

What are your plans in advertising?

I’m not going to have a big building or any staff. There are guys I know that are going to go out and try to get me accounts, and I’m going to give them a 50 percent commission. To get my wife, Connie, to go along with this, I told her she can put every nickel in her account. I’m not doing this for the money.

Do you have any clients?

I’m working with Coast to Coast Imports [auto dealership] in Fishers and Sangiovese [Ristorante]. I’m working on radio spots and soon to be TV spots. That’s just the beginning.•

We are great full to have a Chairman that is still so active and loves basketball the way he does even today. I am following in his tracks and we both cannot wait to see where we take this great game of basketball. CJ Henderson ABA League Australia

Sydney Venom Become The 2nd Team In The ABA League Australia

CJ Henderson CEO of ABA League Australia is proud to announce our 2nd team in the league The Sydney Venom the owner Aristotle Themelis is a serious basketball fan. The game is both his passion and obsession, he always dreamed of owning a basketball team, and thanks to the ABA, his dream has now come true.

A basketball vagabond who has played in competitions of various basketball associations around NSW, he has seen far too many talented players miss out, or give up on their dream of playing professional basketball, and hurts him seeing these basketball players who love the game as much as he does, have to give up that dream of theirs, & looking forward to bringing on great talent.

We are excited to add him to our growing family and we are looking forward to getting our first season up and going for 2018. Aristotle's vision for ABA League Australia is to see it grow every year into a stronger and more exciting basketball league, which will give families another means of entertainment to enjoy together.

We are excited to have Aristotle in our league and looking forward to seeing some of the great talent that he will be suiting up for the season.

ABA Season Update March 2018

It's no doubt that the American Basketball Association AKA The ABA is one of the most exciting leagues in the world - we are the largest professional league in the world and still expanding and growing every year, & this year coming to an end is not disappointing in any way.

The second five ABA All Stars, These are not in any particular order - Just members of the ABA All Star teams.  Five more great players in a league filled with remarkable talent.

  •  San Diego Kings.  Manny Perez, 6'6 ex Harlem Globetrotter forward, 27 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists per game.
  • Team Trouble (Stockton) Christian Williams, 6'2 guard with 20.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists per game.
  • Steel City Yellow Jackets. 6'4 guard/forward with 35 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals a game.
  • Antoine Obery, 6'5 forward, 5 triple doubles, one game with 52 points, 22 rebounds.
  • DC Swarm.  Randy "White Chocolate" Gill, 6'1 guard, 36 points, 11 assists per game.

Picking out the best players in the ABA isn't easy for sure. The talent is amazing. Congratulations to all 10 so far, more coming next week.

It is hard to believe that this is the last weekend of the regular season, sort of sad in a way.  But it has overall been a great season.  Collectively, we have given well over a 1000 young men a chance to play professional basketball, 300+ of whom will be heading overseas or to the G-League to play, and many who will compete in ABA Gold later this summer.

We helped the youth in communities as well as so many not-for-profit organizations and have provided exciting professional basketball at affordable prices, and of course, dozens of great internships launching young people on careers in sports marketing and managing.  Of these things and more, we are very proud.

Keep Up The Great Work Guys.... CJ Henderson ABA League Australia www.abaleagueaustralia.com
